About Exemplar Analytics

Exemplar Analytics began as the research and development arm of Exemplar Human Services, which provides information technology services focused on improving the functioning of state and county human and family services agencies through better data management, reporting, and advanced analytics.
Exemplar Human Services started in 2005 by helping the State of California improve internal metrics within their Health and Human Services Agency. Exemplar Human Services now contracts with public agencies across the US, supported by the work of Exemplar Analytics.
Exemplar Analytics made its first major impact by introducing an improved data pipeline framework and predictive analytics to assist in internal operations and enhance offerings to Exemplar Human Services clients. That was followed by the development of a distance learning service and a software platform to improve the customer experience within workforce development programs.
Today Exemplar Analytics brings this considerable expertise in understanding and modeling human behavior and related business processes from the human services field to all projects, grounding data management and analytics in a human-centered framework. We work with firms across all sectors working to improve the organization and use of their data to mine more actionable insights and help companies learn more about their customers and business.

Andrew Bush
Chief Executive Officer, Founder
Andrew oversees all Exemplar business operations. He also participates in many client projects using his over three decades of experience designing and implementing metrics to manage human-centered business processes. Prior to founding Exemplar in 2005, Andrew spent two decades as an executive in social services management and performance management for the city of New York, state of Wisconsin, and the US federal government.
René Doucet
Chief Technology Officer
Rene oversees the development of new products, data security, and data governance at Exemplar. He was the chief architect of Exemplar’s first analytics reporting service and has had a hand in developing all subsequent products. He also works directly with clients to ensure our services are tailored to meet their specific technology needs. He brings over two decades of experience in business intelligence, systems analysis, design, and data architecture to his work with Exemplar. Prior to joining Exemplar in 2006, Rene held roles as a project manager and business analyst building and managing databases and data software.
C. Travis Bunner
Chief Data Scientist
Travis oversees all data mining, machining learning, and predictive modeling efforts within Exemplar and for Exemplar clients. He also works closely with clients to design custom solutions to unearth greater insights from their data. He has nearly two decades of experience modeling social behavior, deploying predictive analytics, and clearly explaining statistical techniques and model outputs to clients. Prior to joining Exemplar in 2019, Travis originated and managed an advanced analytics practice for a market research firm and worked as a project manager and data scientist.
Kate Grass
Lead Architect
Kate is the principal architect for data management solutions and business intelligence infrastructure at Exemplar. She has more than two decades of experience crafting solutions to integrate disparate sources of data into a single coherent data warehouse and building data pipelines to quickly and securely ingest, transform, and transport data to its proper location. Prior to joining Exemplar in 2015, Kate worked as a freelance IT consultant and held positions as a SQL developer and database programmer.
